On Snow Leopard

Hiding unwanted folders from Finder.

Well, the upgrade was successful. After much consternation, I finally ended up starting from scratch — I cloned my Leopard installation to an external drive, reformatted, and installed a clean copy of Snow Leopard. It’s nice to have a clean drive again.

The only real issue I’ve run into so far is when using MacPorts, the opt folder is visible in the Finder (horrors!). Fortunately, the blogging community came to the rescue:

sudo chflags hidden /opt
